Flood Channel - Highfields

Cllr Ben Taft has worked very hard to fix the ongoing problem with village flooding from Pennyunk Lane at Highfields. The drainage channel under the field has now been cleared out and water is now being diverted into drains rather than around sandbags into the bund at Highfields and preventing water flowing into the village. Derbyshire County Council will soon be fixing erosion caused by flooding on Vicarage Lane towards the "4 lane ends" junction. Cllr Taft met with Sarah Dines MP, Cllr Twigg and Cllr Wakeman to discuss the problem.

The Parish Council understand the bund is not nice to look at and will soon be tidying up the bund with grass turf and wildflowers.
