ASHFORD-IN-THE-WATER PARISH COUNCIL Clerk: Mrs A J FoxDerwent Cottage, Calver Bridge, Calver, Hope Valley S32 3XATelephone: 01433 631689Email: angelafox@btinternet.com MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGHELD ON THURSDAY 28th MARCH 2019 IN ASHFORD SCHOOL Present: Cllr D Windle, Cllr R Akeroyd, Cllr R McGoverne, Cllr V Sidery, Cllr R Spinks, Cllr T Williams, Mrs A Fox (Clerk),Mr Christopher Harrison 25.19 Apologies for Absence: Cllr B Taft, Cllr A Hill, Cllr P Tilbrook, Cllr J Twigg 26.19 Declaration of Members’ Interests: None 27.19 To receive and approve requests for dispensations from members on matters in which they have a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest: None 28.19 Public Participation: Mr Christopher Harrison reported on his continued updating of the parish council website. 29.19 Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held 28th February 2019: The minutes were proposed by Cllr Williams as a true record, seconded by Cllr McGoverne and signed by the Chairman. 30.19 Confidentiality: None 31.19 Items reported by the Clerk: 92.17 1) Public Conveniences: The Clerk was requested to contact DDDC regarding the electricity and water suppliers, and also to contact Mr Jason Rowland regarding a quotation for re-painting all the painted woodwork in the conveniences. 105.17 1) Sports Equipment for Hall Orchard: Ongoing. To be reviewed in the spring. 126.18 c) Hedge on A6: Report awaited from Cllr Twigg. 126.18 d) Ashford Sign: The sign requires cleaning.57.18 2) Parish Council Insurance - Flood Trailer: All the original invoices have been forwarded to the insurance company and a response is awaited.82.18 1) Repairs to Playground Equipment: Awaited. The Clerk was also requested to ask Enviroplay to repair the roundabout. 93.18 4) Christmas Trees: The contribution of £130.00 from the War Memorial Institute has now been received. 130.18 1) Wall between Hall Orchard and The Gables: This item to be removed from the agenda. 07.19 1) Request for Memorial Bench: The Chairman had arranged a meeting with the family regarding exact location of the bench etc. Cllr McGoverne reported that a she had received a request for a memorial bench on Watts Green: this was approved by the parish council. 07.19 3) Parish Council Elections: The timetable and procedure for the forthcoming parish council elections was discussed. 08.19 1) Unsightly Wooden Panels – Enquiries ongoing. 20.19 1) Signs on A6: The Clerk was requested to enquire who to contact at DCC regarding this issue, and also to contact the YNot Festival organisers requesting them to remove the signs. 23.19 b) Ashford School: The War Memorial Institute had confirmed that the Institute was available on Tuesdays and Fridays at a cost of £17 for 2 hours. 31.19 1) Audit of 2018/19 Accounts: It was agreed that John Foster would asked to carry out the internal audit of the parish council accounts. 31.19 2) Increase in cost of cemetery wheeled bin from £8.00 to £8.50 per empty: Approved by the parish council. 31.19 3) Playground Inspection: Enviroplay had agreed to carry out the playground inspection at no additional cost when they carry out the repairs. 31.19 4) Approval of additional inscription – Mrs Sheila Wilde – Approved. 32.19 Items reported by Members: 32.19 1) Flood Relief Channel, Highfields: To be pursued with DCC. 32.19 2) Roundabout in Hall Orchard: Enviroplay to be asked to provide a quotation for repair of the roundabout. 32.19 3) Rubbish in Cemetery: The Clerk was requested to email Phil Riley to enquire whether he knows anything about this. 32.19 4) Dog signs in Hall Orchard: To be erected. 32.19 5) Windows in Toilet Block: The Clerk was requested to obtain a quotation from Jason Rowland for repainting of the painted woodwork in the conveniences, in particular, the windows. 32.19 6) Trees in Churchyard: The Clerk was requested to contact the PCC to request permission for the trees to be inspected, and then to contact Mr Neil Tomlinson for a quotation. 33.19 Planning Matters: 1) Application – NP/DDD/0418/0282: Land south west of Park Farm: The parish council has no objection to this application and has supported it previously. 34.19 Financial Matters Bank Balances Noted:1) Business Reserve Account: £23,486.35Current Account: £250.00 2) to approve payments of accounts:

35.19 Correspondence: 35.19 1) Letter from Films at 59: The Clerk was instructed to respond offering the Old School House as an option for the filming. 35.19 2) Email from Mr Dan McGoverne re drains and floods: The Clerk was requested to respond stating that a meeting of the Flood Committee would be convened following the forthcoming parish council elections. 35.19 3) Letter re Parish Member Appointments to the National Park Authority: None of the parish councillors wished to be nominated. 36.19 Date of Next Meeting: The next parish council meeting will be held following the 2019 Annual Parish Meeting on Tuesday 23rd April 2019 commencing at 7.30 pm in Ashford School.
