Automatic External Defibrillator

The parish council are currently investigating the purchase of an Automatic External Defibrillator for location at an appropriate site within the village.  In the event of a cardiac arrest, every second counts and for every minute that passes without defibrillation, a person’s chances of survival can decrease by up to 10%.  Given also the increasing waiting times for emergency ambulances in rural settings, the parish council feel it is imperative to acquire an AED at the earliest opportunity. Dr Janitha Mundy had originally suggested this to the parish council and has kindly offered her professional expertise. Should any parishioners wish to make a donation towards this life-saving equipment for the benefit of the community, please contact any of the parish councillors. Thank you for your support.Ashford in the Water Parish Council
