MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

HELD ON THURSDAY 14th JANUARY 2016 IN ASHFORD SCHOOL

05.16 Minutes of Parish Council Meeting held 17th December 2015: The minutes were proposed by Cllr Williams as a true record, seconded by Cllr Akeroyd and signed by the Chairman.

07.16 Items reported by the Clerk:

32.15 9) Parish Council Website: The Clerk will liaise with Gareth Pugh and the councillors agreed to review the updated website and comment as appropriate.

31.15 1) Insurance Policy: Cllr Windle had carried out evaluation work of the outstanding items. The Clerk was requested to liaise with the insurance company.

110.14 2) Damaged Antique Lamp Post: Arrangements are ongoing. Cllr Taft will report at the next meeting.

32.15 6) Repair of Playground Equipment & Playground Inspection: A quotation is awaited from Enviroplay for repair of all the items identified as requiring repair and also for a quotation for a new climbing frame, to include safety flooring.

89.15 10) Bank Mandate: Still awaited from Cllr McGoverne.

101.15 8) Christmas Tree: As Friezeland Christmas Trees had failed to provide an updated invoice deducting transportation costs, it was agreed to deduct £30 from the original invoice, bringing the total to £160 + VAT = £192.00. A cheque for this amount was drawn up and signed.

114.15 6) Seating in Hall Orchard: It was agreed to wait until the spring to order the wooden seats as Torne Valley would by then have a wider choice of seats to choose from.

135.15 11) Flood Committee: Mr Mike Watkiss had responded to the article in the parish magazine and volunteered his services on the Flood Committee. It was agreed that a further meeting will be arranged. The Chairman agreed to liaise with Emily Hutchinson of The National Flood Forum to identify a suitable date.

125.15 2) Road Sign to Monsal Head: Cllr Twigg had agreed to action this.

125.15 5) Sign for Highfields: Cllr Twigg had agreed to action this.

125.15 4) Boundary Wall attached to the Sheepwash Bridge: English Heritage had confirmed that they would not be taking any action. The parish council will therefore be arranging the necessary repairs.

125.15 3) Lime Trees in Hall Orchard: Work completed.

136.15 2) Tree at Highfields: A limb has fallen from a tree at Highfields. The Clerk had requested Dales Housing to remove this.

124.15 11) Parish Precept 2016/17: A precept of £11,620.00 was agreed. Full details attached.

08.16 Items reported by Members:

08.16 1) Use of playing field for sport training (U14 rugby): It was agreed that the playing field could be made available to local young rugby players at a possible fee of £10 per session.

08.16 2) Institute Committee Member: It was reported that Cllr McGoverne had resigned from the Institute Committee and a new parish council representative is required. It was suggested that Cllr Sidery may like to consider this. To be included on the next agenda.

09.16 Planning Matters:

1) The Grange, Greaves Lane: Granted subject to conditions.

2) The Bulls Head, Church Street: Granted subject to conditions
