ASHFORD-IN-THE-WATER PARISH COUNCIL Clerk: Mrs A J FoxDerwent Cottage, Calver Bridge, Calver, Hope Valley S32 3XATelephone: 01433 631689Email: angelafox@btinternet.com MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETINGHELD ON THURSDAY 14th APRIL 2016 IN ASHFORD SCHOOL Present: Cllr D Windle, Cllr R Akeroyd Cllr R McGoverne, Cllr B Taft, Cllr V Sidery,Cllr R Spinks, Cllr P Tilbrook, Mrs A Fox (Clerk) 35.16 Apologies for Absence: Cllr A Hill, Cllr H Froggatt, Cllr J Twigg, 36.16 Declaration of Members’ Interests: None 37.16 To receive and approve requests for dispensations from members on matters in which they have a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest: None 38.16 Public Participation: None 39.16 Minutes of Parish Council Meeting held 24th March 2016: The Chairman requested a correction to Item 30.16 1) Post Box Court Lane on page 2, to read “Royal Mail stated that if they could not use the existing post box, they would allocate another one nearby.” This amendment made, the minutes were proposed by Cllr Taft as a true record, seconded by Cllr McGoverne and signed by the Chairman. 40.16 Confidentiality: None 41.16 Items reported by the Clerk: 32.15 9) Parish Council Website: It was agreed that a .gov.uk domain would be preferable and the Clerk was requested to investigate the cost etc. 110.14 2) Damaged Antique Lamp Post: Ongoing. 32.15 6) Repair of Playground Equipment: Completed. The Clerk was requested to email Enviroplay to ask them to inspect the roundabout as it is currently very stiff and not working correctly. 89.15 10) Bank Mandate: Cllr McGoverne has actioned this. 114.15 6) Seating in Hall Orchard: Mr Bill Dinley had kindly offered to donate a memorial seat: details to be supplied and agreed. It was also reported that 2 existing seats are in a poor state of repair. Cllr Windle agreed to establish whether the seats had a memorial plaque, with a view to identifying the donors of the seats if possible. 135.15 11) Flood Committee Meeting: It had been necessary to cancel the meeting arranged for 11th May due to a double booking of the Institute. The meeting will be re-arranged for June or July. 136.15 2) Tree at Highfields: The branch has now been removed. 19.16 1) Damage to Playing Field: The repairs have now been carried out, but the area remains very wet. 29.16 1) Audit of 2015/16 Accounts: The Clerk reported that Mr John Foster of West and Foster had agreed to carry out the account audit. 41.16 10) DALC Subscription: It was agreed to proceed with the lower subscription of £155.74. 42.16 Items reported by Members: 30.16 1) Post Box, Court Lane: see item 39.16 above. 30.16 3) Parking – Hill Cross: Photographs awaited from Cllr Williams. 42.16 3) Flag for HM Queen Elizabeth’s 90th Birthday: Cllr McGoverne reported that she had ordered a flag and that she would contact the War Memorial Institute to seek permission to fly it. 42.16 4) Band Concert: The Clerk was requested to contact Matlock Band to see if they could change the date of the band concert from 5th June to 29th May 43.16 Planning Matters: 1) Application: Land off Horse Lane, Sheldon: The parish council have no objection to this application. 2) Application: Woodland View, John Bank Lane: The parish council have no objection to this application. 44.16 Financial Matters 1) Bank Balances Noted:Business Reserve Account: £19,198.70Current Account: £250.00 2) To approve payments:
