ASHFORD-IN-THE-WATER PARISH COUNCIL Clerk: Mrs A J FoxDerwent Cottage, Calver Bridge, Calver, Hope Valley S32 3XATelephone: 01433 631689Email: angelafox@btinternet.com MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING  HELD ON TUESDAY 8th NOVEMBER 2016 IN ASHFORD SCHOOL Present:          Cllr D Windle, Cllr R Akeroyd, Cllr R McGoverne (for first part of meeting only),  Cllr V Sidery, Cllr R Spinks, Cllr T Williams, Cllr P Tillbrook, Cllr J Twigg (for first part of meeting), Mrs A Fox (Clerk) 106.16             Apologies for Absence: Cllr B Taft, Cllr A Hill, Cllr H Froggatt 107.16             Declaration of Members’ Interests: None 108.16             To receive and approve requests for dispensations from members on matters in which they have a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest: None 109.16             Public Participation: Cllr Twigg reported that DCC are investigating the road bollards at the entrance to Ashford and has suggested that they should arrange a site meeting and observation.  Cllrs Twigg and Tillbrook reported on the temporary post office in Bakewell and the uncertainty regarding its continuity. 110.16             Minutes of Parish Council Meeting held 4th October 2016: The minutes were proposed by Cllr Williams as a true record, seconded by Cllr Akeroyd and signed by the Chairman. 111.16             Confidentiality: None 112.16             Items reported by the Clerk: 55.16 3)           Defibrillators: The Chairman reported that he will be liaising with Dr Mundy to organise a practice session to demonstrate the use of the defibrillators. 76.16 1)           Trees on Vicarage Lane and Hall Orchard: A response is still awaited from David Frost of the Peak Park Authority. 77.16 1)           Flood Committee Meeting: A Flood Committee Meeting was held on 11th October.  It was reported that the trailer is now located at Highfield Farm.  It was agreed that sand bags should be made available and this will be discussed again at the next Flood Committee Meeing on 24th November. 88.16 3)           Christmas Tree: Cllr Spinks confirmed that the Christmas tree would be arriving on 9th December.  Cllr Windle reported that cable covers will cost approximately £100 and this expenditure was approved. 89.16 a)           Public Conveniences: The repair work and painting of the public conveniences is still awaited. 89.16 b)           Trinity Cottage, Hill Cross: A response is still awaited from the Peak Park Authority. 100.16 1)         Quotations for grass mowing 2017/18: Four responses had been received following the advertisement in the Peak Advertiser.  Cllr Windle  had drawn up a mowing schedule, which was approved by the parish council, and it was agreed that this would be circulated to those wishing to submit a quotation. 104.16 1)         Bus Shelter: Refurbishment ongoing. 113.16             Items reported by Members: 113.16 1)         BT Phone Box: Cllr Windle reminded the meeting that we have until the end of November to make a decision regarding the future of the BT phone box.  The parish council agreed that they prefer to maintain the phone box as a working phone, but if this is not possible, the parish council would wish to adopt the phone box at the cost of £1. 113.16 2)         Maintenance of Play Equipment: Cllrs Spinks and Windle agreed to inspect the equipment to decide on maintenance requirements. 114.16             Planning Matters:  1) Application: Long Roods Farm (proposed alterations and extensions to dwelling) – The parish council have no objection to this application. 2) Application: Long Roods Farm (proposed conversion of barns) – The parish council have no objection to this application. 115.16             Financial Matters Bank Balances Noted:1)         Business Reserve Account:                                                           £25,237.40Current Account:                                                                               £250.00 2)                  To approve payments:
