MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

HELD ON TUESDAY 22ND OCTOBER 2015 IN ASHFORD SCHOOL

Present: Cllr D Windle, Cllr R Akeroyd, Cllr R Spinks, Cllr Val Sidery, Cllr T Williams,

Cllr J Twigg, Cllr H Froggatt, Cllr A Hill, Cllr P Tillbrook, Mrs A Fox (Clerk)

The first 30 minutes of the meeting were attended by Mr Gareth Pugh of Pigeon Tech IT Solutions to discuss the updating of the parish council website.

109.15 To receive and approve requests for dispensations from members on matters in which they have a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest: None

110.15 Public Participation: Mr Gareth Pugh of Pigeon Tech IT Solutions made a presentation regarding the updating of the parish council website, the cost of which would be £400 for the initial set up and £66 per year thereafter for the server. The parish council subsequently agreed unanimously to proceed. The Clerk to instruct Mr Pugh to commence work on the website with immediate effect.

111.15 Minutes of Parish Council Meeting held 22nd September 2015: The minutes were proposed by Cllr Williams as a true record, seconded by Cllr Sidery and signed by the Chairman.

113.15 Items reported by the Clerk:

114.13 Automatic External Defibrillators: Mr Hugh Wright had recently met with Patrick McLoughlin MP to discuss the recent incident in Little Longstone.

31.15 1) Insurance Policy: Valuation of the list of items compiled by the Chairman is ongoing.

110.14 2) Damaged Antique Lamp Post: Arrangements are ongoing. Cllr Taft will report at the next meeting.

32.15 6) Repair of Playground Equipment & Playground Inspection: Environplay Ltd had been asked to carry out the playground inspection at a cost of £30.

32.15 9) Parish Council Website: See minute 110.15 above.

89.15 9) Outstanding Paperwork: Register of Interests form was requested from Cllr Akeroyd.

89.15 10) Bank Mandate: Still awaited from Cllr McGoverne.

101.15 8) Christmas Tree: Cllr Spinks confirmed that he had provisionally ordered a 5 ½ m Christmas tree. It was agreed that the Christmas tree should be erected on 5th/6th December.

114.15 Items reported by Members:

78.15 1) Gate to Sheepwash Pen: It was agreed that the Chairman would seek a quotation from Chris Whitham.

114.15 2) Shrubbery near Conveniences: Chris Whitham is proceeding with this work.

114.15 3) Gate – Bull’s Head: A letter had been received from the Bull’s Head requesting permission to use part of the Hall Orchard for a village firework display on Bonfire Night. The majority of the parish council were in agreement with this so it was decided that permission would be granted. The Bull’s Head had also requested permission to put a lockable gate into the wall at their own cost. The parish council agreed to this.

114.15 6) Seating in Hall Orchard: It was agreed that additional seating is required in the Hall Orchard: probably 2 wooden benches. The Clerk was requested to obtain some prices.

115.15 Planning Matters:

b) Decision: Chantry Cottage – Granted subject to conditions

c) Decision: The Woodlands – Granted subject to conditions

d) Decision: 3 Hall End Lane – Granted subject to conditions

11715 Date of Next Meeting: The next parish council meeting will be held on Thursday 19th November 2015 at 7.00 pm in Ashford Old School Rooms, starting 30 minutes earlier than usual as Emily Hutchinson from the National Flood Forum will be invited to attend at 7.00 pm.
